The Brisbane Bullets, a well-known team in the National Basketball League (NBL), sought to broaden their fan base and engage more deeply with younger audiences beyond their existing legacy supporters.

The Challenge

The team faced a disconnect between local basketball enthusiasts and the Bullets, particularly among younger demographics in Brisbane. The challenge was to revitalize the brand in a way that would resonate with this younger crowd, drawing inspiration from the creative and vibrant branding styles of NBA teams.

My Solution

I led a rebranding initiative that focused on modernising the Brisbane Bullets' visual identity to attract younger fans. I revamped the logo to a simpler, more recognisable form that would stand out in digital and physical formats. A contemporary colour palette was adopted, mirroring the team’s uniform colours to maintain brand consistency and appeal.


To enhance the fan experience, I introduced high-quality brand touch points, including a visually appealing membership pack. This pack featured distinctive player photographs using a black and white filter, with the team's blue and yellow colours highlighted, creating a bold and engaging visual style. These changes were aimed at making the Bullets more appealing and accessible to a broader audience, ultimately expanding their fan base and fostering a stronger community connection.
